We currently use PayPal to handle online purchasing. You do not need a PayPal account to buy our products.
After purchase, you will receive a receipt from PayPal by email.
You will also be sent a separate email with a link from which you can download your software, and a license key password which you will need to unlock the software.
Please enter the license key exactly as it appears, including underscore _ and hyphen - characters. The license key is case-sensitive.
Should you have any problems:
- receiving the email with download details
- downloading your software
- unlocking the software
contact us and we will endeavour to solve the problem as soon as possible.
Please ensure that you set your mail filter to allow email from the macpips.com domain. Sometimes the email might appear in your Junk email folder.
Disk Image Support
All our products are distributed as disk images.
For our non-applicaton products: loop packs, strategy guides and iPod Notes-based games, you will need to unlock the disk image with your key.
The disk image will mount when the correct key is entered. Unfortunately, the Apple disk image format shows the key field as a password field, which does not let you see what you are typing. We are currently addressing this issue.
Widgets Support
When I try to open the Widget in Dashboard, I see a blank, white box with a broken icon in the centre.
Some of our Widgets require Java 1.5, which is installed by default with OS X 10.4.3 Tiger.
First of all, check that your system is up to date. Most likely your machine has been upgraded to Tiger from OS X 10.3 (Panther) and still has Java 1.4 installed. In this case, you should install Java 1.5 from the Software Update control panel.
MacPips Loop Pack Support
Most likely, you should find the answer to your question here. If not, please contact us.
When I try to add loops to the browser, Garageband freezes
When you add new loops to Garageband, it needs to re-index all your loops. If you have many loops already installed, this can take a few minutes.
Not all loops appear in the Garageband loop browser
Most loops are in 4/4 time, but some are in other time signatures such as 3/4 and 6/8. If the time signature of your composition does not match that of the loop, it will not appear in the browser.
Some loops have an audible 'tick' at the loop transition point when played as audio files. That's not very professional is it?
You might notice this with some of the Software Instrument loops when they are played as audio files. Even Apple's own Software Instrument loops can have this issue.
Software Instrument loops are essentially a hybrid between a MIDI file and a true audio file.
To loop smoothly in Logic or Garageband, notes at the end of the Software Instrument loop may last right until the end of the file, so that when used as intended, the sustain and legato effects work correctly.
Unfortunately, when used as an audio file, such loops may show the waveform cut off before the end of a complete wavelength, causing the 'tick'.
If you wish to use any of our Software Instrument loops as Real Instrument loops, get in touch and we'll create a version for you.
